Friday 13^th April 2012 - The Black Hole tent, which has stood empty for 7 years, has started to be dismantled. The tent was put to use for the last time during the 2011 Scarefest event as it hosted 2 horror maze attractions - The Boiler House and The Carnival of Screams.

The move comes after planning permission for Alton Towers' new 2013 roller coaster, code named SW7, was granted. New fences around the area have also been erected, promoting a new website, altontowers.com/2013/. The site currently allows visitors to enter their email address and sign up to receive updates on the upcoming attraction.
