There are some interesting scenes in X-Sector this morning, with some work taking place around the Black Hole tent. The tent, which was made obsolete back in 2005, has been subject to a host of rumours surrounding it's future and what may eventually be placed inside it.

These photos taken this morning could suggest that work towards getting the Black Hole tent ready to hold a new attraction is well under way.

The X-Sector sign was removed over the weekend, possibly to allow access for tall vehicles into the area.

A fence has been placed around the opening of the tent.

Here you can see a cherry picker in the area.

It's worth noting that the lights are on inside the tent and it's reportedly looking empty. We'll keep you posted on any further developments.

The Black Hole Coaster left a number of years ago, however the tent remains intact.

I always thought the track had left when it was stacked outside, however i have heard on a number of occasions its been stored for time inside the tent.

Its strange to see why there is a cherry picker next to the tent. possibly the removal of the tent canvases?
However i would have thought they woudl remove the tent over the end season as they will be left with a concrete patch on show which wont look good.

Woops my bad, It looks form the picture as if it has a platform on it. And i was mistaken by Marks Subtitle to it.

I highly doubt anything will go into the tent like a play area or scarefest attraction. However i would love to see a dark ride show or scarefest attraction in there but its not on the map for this year so it wont be happening.

dout it will b a playarea with the so called revamp of cred street with play areas and the dung heap and all the stuff wats been happenin 4 kids over the last 4 years i dont think it will b a play area. plus there due for a phew big atractions.

Its nice to see SOMETHING is happening at least! Whatever that is. A scare fest attraction would be amazing but like John said it isn't on the map so unfortunately it won't be the case. At least... not this year.
The main question that's forming then is... will the tent go or will the tent stay and something be put inside.
Only Time will tell I suppose. :nerd2:

The track was definitely still inside the tent at the end of last year, as we got to look inside it on the Behind the Scenes Tour. The ride was supposed to have been sold to a park in Brazil, but due to a change in government over there the deal was either put on hold or fell through completely.

It will be sad if the tent goes and even sadder if it's replaced by a playground, although in my opinion I just can't see that happening. In a park where space is at a premium, it would not make sense to give up a huge plot of land to build a kid's play area, especially when the Dung Heap is less than five minutes away.

Although nothing official has been announced, it's pretty much been taken that the new land will be a Cred Street re-theme, so the advertised new play area would logically be replacing the current one in Cred Street. I'm guessing it would be something along the lines of the new one in Thomas Land at Drayton, but not on as bigger scale.

If what Matt has said is true and they forklift was moving the supports out of the tent, it may just be a case that they are finally getting ride of the ride, if it is still inside the tent, or they could be preparing it for something new. I guess we'll just have to wait and see what happens, though I'd guess we won't be seeing much more happening during the open season.

;)According to my friend who was on park today they noticed track being fork lifted onto lorrys.
So that is mostly what we expected was going on at the moment.

Well I did ask deo :P And he said that only half the track and supports have been sold off, so whats happening with the other half:unsure:

I think if it is true that they have only sold half the track, it'll probably to use as spares for another Jet Star 2 somewhere in the world. Jacobs right about the Black Hole never opening again, the reason why it was closed was due to the amount of maintenance involved in it's running. The only reason it was in a good enough state to sell to the park in Brazil would be because they don't have as stringent safety and maintenece standards as Alton Towers do.

It's all cealed back up and the fencing removed again now the track has being tacken out and gone wth. The sign still remains down at present thow. :D

I got a update :P the sign has been put up again, it was not up on sunday but i went on wednesday and the sign was back :D

Also i was told that the reason the sign was down is because they have had tall trucks in to remove the ride. Someone in management told me that

That's probably a good thing. If there was to be something big put there for next season, surely starting it now would be a very bad idea, building works would distract from the Halloween Event. Besides, if anything was to happen with the tent, it would be mentioned in the Winter Brochure.

whats going to happen with the black hole tent i saw the images from your site and they had cherry pickers on suite and also the white marks of where the tracks were standing. I'm not sure whats going to happen

Its ashame they are not doing anything. But if they do I would like to see something a bit like Ripsaw in X-Sector but perhaps inside the tent so it's dark, or even a drop tower! AlthoughI think getting something a bit like X:/ No Way Out at Thorpe would go down well with some people (not me but some people).

I never rode Black Hole, so I don't know what it was like :( I feel left out.
