New Towers Nerd Launches!

As you may have noticed, the main Towers Nerd site has been taken down and replaced with a countdown for our brand new web site. It will be launching on 1st January 2008 at midnight.

It's been one and a half years in the making and we're sure you'll enjoy it! :)

Yes the time is almost upon us when all the hard work will come to fruition. Numerous people have helped in the production of the new site, but it has to be said that both Mark and Robert have put an amazing amount of time and effort into this site, and it really does show. Although a bit premature, but a big :thumbsup: to you for your achievements with the site, and I'm certain everybody else will agree once 2008 is upon us. :)

Whoa, now if the site is even anywhere near as cool as the countdown page then I'm sold. I've always thought that logo was just as professional as the logo Alton Towers themselves actually use.

But yeah, now less than 24 hours to go. It may have taken its time in coming, but i can say for definate it is worth the wait. Having seen it myself, It's clear how much effort everyone on the team has put into making the site as sparkly as it is.

Yes, I feel the same way as the two above, its very crisp, very new and modern. It feels more interactive than the other one, is simpler and easier to navigate. I also like how the shop is better advertised and little things like the photos and theater. Yes, very very well done.

There's still a lot of new content to be added and that will be an on-going process throughout the year. Hopefully it'll keep things fresh and interesting!

It is great to finally see the new site live!! Last night was a good laugh although it was a rush last minute, but it still managed to go live on time. Im looking forward to seeing more content being added over the coming months. :)

I must say that the new Photo Gallery is by far the most awesome on almost any Theme Park Site, the sorting is better than every actual official park site I've ever seen.

We did originally plan to have some Flash games ready for our new site. However, seeing as none of the team have any real experience with flash we decided to ditch the idea and instead work on ride re-creations using Roller Coaster Tycoon 3 and NoLimits. Morgan (http://www.towersnerd.com/community/member.php?find=lastposter&f=16) was responsible for these and has worked very hard to get them finished - you can find them here (http://www.towersnerd.com/features/games/). Perhaps we'll be able to offer flash simulations in the future.

Plus they'll be more to come for RCT & No Limits, there's still a couple of things on the list to get done. ;)
