Alton Towers have launched a brand new heritage website in conjunction with Staffordshire University. It's a work in progress at the moment but is planned to launch fully on 5th November. It's definatly worth a look, lots of interesting things already on offer!

And one other thing, I think it kind of confirms the new logo which looks great :)

Looks very good, it will be interesting to see how it is when it's fully launched. It's great to see them taking an interest in the history of the estate, just another thing that seperates Alton Towers from the rest of the theme park world.

Ive been wondering if there was a site like this one, just about the history of the towers. Very interesting.

There's an interesting update on the heritage site, with a possible ghost photo. To me it looks like it could quite easily be caused by the low light levels and shakey camera work.

From The fuzzy outline i think you are right morgan, if it was more clear and less blurred it may be a bit more believable. Although whats strange is how it is such a strong red colour where as everything else is pitch black shadows or the sun in the doorway. but as we all know the sun can play lots of tricks on camera reflection.

There are lots of people in that photo, the person in red could very easily be one of them, if the sun beam shines directly on them and the person taking the photo moves their hand slightly as you would when holding it up high then that is pretty much what you'd get, although that red robe is VERY red, light can play tricks

From Looking at the image closley i have noticed that there is a light ray on the object/figure going sideways . If this was a real ghost or what not you would not see it fade out along a straight line of light like it does on the bottom left of it. The light ray DOES follow the line of Refraction of the sun passign through the door way and you can see it hitting another person on the left side of the main picture.
I would have tried to draw on the picture and post but alton have copyrighted the image annoyingly and the right click feature.
My final conclusion on that would most likley be a reflection of a person onto the convex lens of the camera as it caught a side ways glimpse of the person.object along its normal. Faces can easily be pictured or worked out by the human eye. Its the same with this video off youtube. I have studied this clip and if you look real close the way the camera moves past, the building windows and doors turned on the side and then reflected along with the bright sun in the top left makes a sort of horse shape figure which our brain works out.
